Westfolders

The western Rohirrim

Those Men of Rohan that occupied the wide fields of Westfold, between the River Isen to the west and the Entwash to the east. In the southwestern part of Westfold lay Helm's Deep, and the castle of the Hornburg. That fortress was the seat of the lords of Westfold, who led the Westfolders in the name of the King. At the time of the War of the Ring, Erkenbrand was the lord of the Hornburg and master of the Westfolders.
