Voronwë called Nevrast 'the land of my birth' (in Of Tuor and his Coming to Gondolin in Unfinished Tales), so he must have born there before the exodus to Gondolin in I 126. He is last seen guiding Tuor to Gondolin in I 495, after which he makes no further appearance in any canonical work.
According to older traditions, though, he escaped the ruin of Gondolin and eventually sailed into the West, either with his friend Tuor, or even (in the earliest versions of the story) with Eärendil himself. Nothing of this has survived into the published edition of The Silmarillion. |
