The name of a family among the Men of Bree. It was common among the families of the Men of this region that their names would have a botanical connection, and Thistlewool is one of these cases. The name seems to refer to thistledown, the light woolly down used by the thistle to scatter its seeds in the wind. We have no specific mentions of any individual members of this family, but we know that one or more members were extant in Bree in the closing years of the Third Age.
