Thalion

The Steadfast

The title and surname of Húrin son of Galdor, the Lord of Dor-lómin. It is said to mean 'Steadfast'.

Notes

1

In connection with Húrin, the word Thalion is usually translated 'Steadfast', but it can also be interpreted as the similar 'dauntless'. More generally it can also be read as simply 'strong' (as for example in Beleg's surname Cúthalion, which meant 'Strongbow').
