A pastoral title, translated from the Elvish Emerwen Aranel, given to Princess Ancalimë of Númenor during her retreat from court life. After being named King's Heir by her royal father Tar-Aldarion, she went back to her childhood country of Emerië to escape the royal court, and especially the many suitors who sought her hand.
In Emerië Ancalimë lived a simple life, and struck up a friendship with a shepherd named Mámandil. It was eventually revealed that this shepherd was in fact a nobleman in disguise, one Hallacar of Hyarastorni. Though initially enraged by the deception, Ancalimë and Hallacar did eventually wed, and produced an heir, Anárion, to continue the royal line of Númenor.
