The Doors of Durin that stood at the end of the road from Eregion to Khazad-dûm, forming the western entrance to that Dwarf-kingdom. The term 'Elven Door' is perhaps a little misleading, as the door was made by a Dwarf (named as Narvi) and opened into a kingdom of the Dwarves. The term 'Elven' here seems to refer to the fact that it would have been the main way by which the Elves of Eregion passed into Khazad-dûm during the days of their friendship with the Dwarves, or perhaps to the fact that the designs of ithildin on the door were created by the Elf Celebrimbor.
