Elenya

The Star-day of the Elves

Days of the week

The first day of the Elves' six-day week, with a name that translates from Quenya as 'Day of the Stars'. It was followed in order by Anarya, Isilya, Aldúya, Menelya and Valanya to comprise the full week. Elenya had other names in other languages: in Sindarin it was Orgilion, and the Númenóreans passed it on to Middle-earth, where it became Sterrendei, and eventually Sterday.
