A related term to Eldar, but referring to all the Elves, not just those of the Great Journey. This is apparently the natural Quenya form of the word.

The names Eldar and Eldalië are obviously closely linked terms, but Eldar evolved in its meaning to refer just to those Elves who set out on the Great Journey. The same was less true of Eldalië, which was still held to refer to all the Elves, even including (at least in principle) the Avari.
