A title given to Curufin, the fifth of Fëanor's seven sons. He was known as 'the crafty' because he inherited most strongly his father's great skill in making, a fact that is reflected in his name (which derives from Curunfinwë, Fëanor's original name, which meant 'skilled son of Finwë'). Curufin passed on his powers of craft to his own son Celebrimbor, who would use that skill in the making of the Rings of Power in the Second Age.
