The thirtieth King of Gondor , son of Narmacil II . Calimehtar is most famous for his defeat of the Wainriders on the plain of Dagorlad . He was succeeded by his son, Ondoher .

The date of Calimehtar's birth appears only in The History of Middle-earth volume XII, The Peoples of Middle-earth . It cannot therefore be considered completely reliable.

After Calimehtar's time, his son Ondoher died in battle with both his heirs. In the same battle, Ondoher's nephew Minohtar was also lost; he was a grandson of Calimehtar through an unnamed daughter.
