Sam Gamgee's pony, named for its original owner Bill Ferny, that travelled with the Company of the Ring through the leagues of Eriador to the West-gate of Moria. There the Fellowship were forced to leave Bill behind as they entered the depths of Moria. Alone in the wilderness, Bill was somehow able to make the journey back northwards to Bree, where it was eventually reunited with Sam after his return from his own adventures in the southern lands.
