AncalimonA name for the fourteenth Ruler of Númenor
The short form of the name of the King of Númenor known more fully as Tar-Ancalimon. The son of Tar-Atanamir, Tar-Ancalimon ruled Númenor between the years of II 2251 and II 2386. His rule was a vitally important period in the history of Númenor: it saw the first divisions among its people that would lead eventually to the enmity between the King's Men and the Faithful, and ultimately to the destruction of Númenor itself.
