Pronunication in this case of this long-extinct language is especially unclear, so a natural English pronunciation is probably the simplest option.

Vidugavia's name is a modernisation of Gothic Widugauja, containing the elements 'wood' and 'dweller'. The first element is surely a reference to Mirkwood (which itself derives from mirkiwidu) that lay on the western edges of Vidugavia's realm.
