Vardarianna

A fragrant tree of Nísinen

One of the many different types of sweet-smelling evergreen trees brought to Númenor by the Eldar of Eressëa. With many other trees from the Lonely Isle, vardarianna grew in the land of Nísinen around the western haven of Eldalondë. The name vardarianna seems to derive from the name of the Vala Varda, Queen of the Stars, combined with an Elvish compound meaning 'crown-gift'.
