The tower built by the Elves of Valinor for Ingwë their High King; it was known in Elvish as the Mindon Eldaliéva or simply the Mindon. The tallest of all the towers of Tirion, it held a silver beacon that shone out from the pass of the Calacirya across the Sea, and beneath the tower was a great square and courtyard in which stood Galathilion, the Tree of Tirion. It was in the square that Fëanor gathered the Noldor before he took his dreadful Oath and led his people from Valinor. The beam of the Tower's silver light was the last thing they saw as they passed out of the land of the Valar.
