A granddaughter of Hildibrand Took, who was in turn the eighth of the Old Took's twelve children. Rosamunda thus belonged to a minor branch of the family of the Thains of the Shire. She is important to the story of The Lord of the Rings because she married into the Bolger clan. Her husband was Odovacar Bolger, and their son was Fredegar ('Fatty') Bolger, who aided Frodo and his companions in their escape from the Shire.
