The name used by the Elves for tales composed in verse, intended to be spoken aloud rather than sung. They were properly made using a poetic mode known as Minlamed thent / estent. The most famous narn known to exist was also the longest ever created: the Narn i Chîn Húrin ('Tale of the Children of Húrin') written in Sindarin by the Mannish poet Dírhavel.
