A name for the birds known as nightingales, derived from the Elvish for 'dusk singers'. The lómelindi were said to have been singing when Thingol first came upon Melian in Nan Elmoth. Lúthien, the daughter of Thingol and Melian, also had a connection to this bird: Beren called her Tinúviel, 'daughter of twilight', which is also an Elvish name for the nightingale.
