A leader among the Riders of Rohan, who brought the Rohirrim under his command to the Muster of Rohan, and followed Théoden from Dunharrow to the Pelennor Fields before Minas Tirith. He fought and fell in the fateful battle there, and his name was recorded among the lords and commanders of Rohan in the Song of the Mounds of Mundburg. The meaning of his name is not certain, but it seems to mean 'one who goes to war'.
