These dates are derived from a genealogical chart in volume XI of The History of Middle-earth, and cannot therefore be taken as absolutely canonical.

Handir's wife Beldis is not named in any canonical work, but she is shown in various genealogical trees in volume XI of The History of Middle-earth. She was descended from the House of Bëor, and was the granddaughter of Bregor. Significantly, she had an elder brother, Brandir, whose name she passed on to her son. That younger Brandir, better known as Brandir the Lame, was the Lord of Brethil later slain by Túrin Turambar.
