At least, this would be the pronunciation scheme following the stress patterns described by Tolkien in Appemdix E 1 to The Lord of the Rings, though it's questionable whether the details given there would apply to names with a Germanic source. As an alternative, in Old English the name Gundabad would probably have been pronounced 'gu'ndabad' (with the stress on the first syllable), though it is difficult to be sure of Tolkien's intentions for pronouncing names of this kind. |
