Fastred

A Rider who fell in the Battle of the Pelennor

A warrior of Rohan who followed Théoden to the aid of Gondor, and was slain in the Battle of the Pelennor Fields at the breaking of the siege of Minas Tirith. He was recorded in the roll of the fallen, and his body was buried in the Mounds of Mundburg, but nothing further is known of his life. He was perhaps named for a more famous Rider of Rohan, Fastred the brother of Théoden's grandfather Fengel, who rode to defend Gondor in an earlier battle, more than a century before the War of the Ring.
