The Faroth

A name for the hills above Nargothrond

A shortened form of the name Taur-en-Faroth (or 'High Faroth'). This was the forested range of hills whose eastern end fell with a sudden steep drop into the ravine of Narog, and beneath which lay the underground realm of Nargothrond. The full name is commonly translated 'Hills of the Hunters'.
