Ever-eve in the West (somewhat conjectural)
A name used by Galadriel for Eldamar or Elvenesse, the lands where the Elves dwelt beyond the Sea in Aman. The name also appears as 'Evereven', and both names have the same meaning, referring to a land of perpetual twilight. The reference seems to be historical, with Galadriel recalling the land as it was in her youth, before the rising of the Sun and Moon, when the lands of the West were lit by the Two Trees of Valinor. Their Light filled the regions to the west of the mountains of the Pelóri, while Eldamar lay mainly to the east of the mountains. Hence it did not receive the full glow of the Trees, except through the Calacirya, the Pass of Light made through the mountains so that the Light of the Trees could shine through to the twilit lands of the Elves.
