The Elvish word for the beings more usually known by the name given them by the Rohirrim - the Ents. Enyd is one of two plural forms given in The Lord of the Rings, the other being Onodrim. The distinction is that Onodrim, which literally means 'Ent-host', refers to the Ents as a group or an entire race. Enyd is the more normal plural for smaller numbers of Ents.
