Also called the Loudwater, the river that rose in the Misty Mountains east of Rivendell, and joined the Mitheithel (Hoarwell) to form the River Gwathló or Greyflood.

Notes

1

Aragorn is recorded as stating that the river Greyflood (the Mannish name for Gwathló) began at the confluence of Mitheithel and Bruinen, as shown on this map. However, other sources state that Gwathló did not begin until after Mitheithel joined another river, Glanduin, somewhat to the south. Following these alternative sources, the stretch of river marked 'Gwathló' or 'Greyflood' on the map would actually be a continuation of Mitheithel.
