Biter

A name for Thorin’s sword Orcrist

A name among the Orcs for the great sword Orcrist, borne by Thorin during the Quest of Erebor. The name 'Biter', though, was much older than Thorin's time, and dated back to the First Age, when it was used by the Gondolindrim in the Wars of Beleriand.
