One of the three roads that led out of the Great Gate of Minas Tirith and out across the Pelennor Fields. As the name implies, the North-way was the road that led northwards until it reached a gate in the Rammas Echor, at which point it became the Great West Road that led to Rohan and then further northwards into Enedwaith and the ancient lands of Arnor.
The other two roads across the Pelennor are not named, but by extension from the name 'North-way' they were presumably referred to as the East-way (which led to Osgiliath on Anduin) and the South-way (which led to the Harlond and then on to Pelargir).
