Lórien

The name given to the Vala Irmo

The Valar

The common name given to the Vala Irmo, from the gardens in Valinor where he dwelt with his spouse Estë.

Notes

1

Lórien took his name from his gardens in Valinor, so perhaps '(garden) of dreams' might be a more appropriate rendering. The form 'god of dreams', though, is actually used for this Vala in Tolkien's earlier work, hence the translation used above.
