One of many variant titles given to the King of Rohan, relating to his overlordship of the warrior riders of that land, the Rohirrim. The title is more usually seen in the form 'Lord of the Rohirrim', but both these titles are relatively rare. In fact, 'King of the Rohirrim' is only specifically given to King Éomer, who inherited the title during the War of the Ring, though in context it clearly applies to all the Kings of the Mark back to the time of Eorl.
