Ettendales

The Troll-country north of Rivendell

Map of the Ettendales

Far to the north of Rivendell lay a land of highlands and valleys otherwise known as the Ettenmoors or the Coldfells. Eastward of the main mass of fells (or moorland hills) a narrow neck of lower land reached out to join with the northerly Misty Mountains. This neck of lower land reaching across into the Mountains was known as the Ettendales, and like the Ettenmoors to their west, this was a dangerous region that was home to many Trolls.
