One of several stars in Aquila with confusingly similar names. This star, in combination with nearby Epsilon Aquilae, historically formed the 'tail of the Eagle', or Deneb al Okab. That name came to be applied to both Zeta and Epsilon individually, and also to Delta Aquilae in the centre of the constellation. The formally recognised name of Zeta Aquilae is now Okab, meaning simply 'Eagle'.
