Deneb Okab is not to be confused with Epsilon or Zeta Aquilae, both of which were traditionally called Deneb al Okab or Deneb el Okab. Historically, the name (which means 'tail of the Eagle') seems to have originally belonged to the Epsilon and Zetastars as a pair, and was later mistakenly transferred to Delta Aquilae in the central regions of the constellation.
