A very comprehensive catalogue of almost quarter of a million stars. The catalogue numbers
from this work are commonly used to designate fainter stars.
The Henry Draper Catalog consists of nine volumes, and took some four years to compile. Huge
and comprehensive as it is, it still lists only about 0.0000025% of the stars in our
Galaxy alone.
