NotesAn evolved star of the orange giant class, Upsilon Piscis Austrini is a solitary star with no known companions. Its motion through the Galaxy implies that it belongs to the Wolf 630 Moving Group, a collection of dozens of stars that appear to share common origin, and are perhaps associated with M67 in Cancer, among other open clusters.

The star to the immediate east (left) of Upsilon Piscis Austrini is HR 8444, a white main-sequence star just nineteen arcminutes from Upsilon Piscis Austrini in the sky, but actually much closer to the Sun. Immediately to the south of Upsilon Piscis Austrini in this image is the small elongated shape of the distant spiral galaxy PGC 68122. Imagery provided by Aladin sky atlas
