The star to the south and east of Pi Piscium is HD 9986, a yellow dwarf with properties very close to those of the Sun. On the opposite side of Pi Piscium, and very close to the star, the object seen here as an orange lozenge shape is the spiral galaxy PGC 1404759, some five hundred million light years from the Milky Way.
