An evolved star with an orange colouration, HR 2450 has expanded to reach nearly thirty times the Sun'sdiameter. Spectral analysis shows an unusual abundance of both cyanide and calcium in the star's atmosphere, as indicated by the 'CN' and 'Ca' extensions in its spectral classification.
