Show on Sky Map
HR 1911 shines against the clouds of the Orion Molecular Cloud as they darken southward of the bright Orion Nebula. The prominent star to the northwest (upper right) is Hatysa or Iota Orionis, a highly luminous giant which, despite its brightness, actually lies farther from the Sun that the main-sequence star HR 1911.
