As a close neighbour of the Sun, Gliese 1061 has a significant proper motion against its background stars, as shown by the double image here, with distinct blue and red images showing the locations of the star at different observation times. Its apparent path of travel across the sky is carrying the star southeastwards. The faint elongated object visible in its path is the edge-on galaxy PGC 536392. Imagery provided by Aladin sky atlas
