A faint star in Auriga, falling near its border with Camelopardalis. 9 Aurigae is a dwarf star of the 'F' (bright yellow) classification, about eighty-eight light years from Earth's Solar System. The primary star has four close companions, though some of these appear to simply lie on the same line of sight from Earth, rather than belonging the system itself.
