Due to its large size and fortunate position in the sky, the region of Sagittarius contains
almost one quarter of the matter in our Galaxy.
This busy area of the sky contains many nebulae and star clusters. Near its border
with Ophiuchus lies the innocuous star 3 Sagittarii, which lies less than a degree
from the centre of our Galaxy.
