The status of this object is open to some question. Most sources describe it as a scattered open cluster with approximately 140 members, but others suggest that it does not represent a cluster at all, and that its member stars are merely a unrelated grouping in a region some three thousand light years from the Sun.
* No general magnitude for this cluster is recorded. The brighteststar in its central regions is TYC-5969-0229-1, with an apparent magnitude of +9.92, but more widely scattered stars around this central group are also associcated with the cluster. The brightest member of this extended halo of stars is HD 56599 at magnitude +8.96, which lies more than forty arcminutes northward of the cluster's densest region.
