KMT-2021-BLG-1898, the parent star of this planet, lies with the central bulge of the Milky Way Galaxy, at a distance estimated to be approach 23,000 light years from the Solar System. The planet was detected by gravitational lensing techniques, and its star is not directly visible in this image, which shows its location within the densely starred region toward the Galaxy's core.
