Jellyfish Nebula

The bright red star to the west of the Jellyfish Nebula is Propus or Eta Geminorum. This third-magnitude star is unrelated to the nebula, and is actually in the near foreground as viewed from Earth. In fact, the star is less than a tenth of the distance to the expansive supernova remnant that lies beyond it. Imagery provided by Aladin sky atlas
