The only known moon of the dwarf planetQuaoar is a small body, less than a tenth of the diameter of its parent planet. Together Quaoar and Weywot pursue a distant path around the Sun, beyond that of Pluto. This moon is named for the son of the deity Quaoar in the mythology of the Tongva Native American culture.
