One of the many moons of Jupiter, Himalia is approximately 140 kilometres in diameter. Its orbit carries it around Jupiter at a distance averaging more than eleven million kilometres, far beyond the bright Galilean moons, but much closer to its parent planet than the most distant Jovian moons like Carme or Pasiphae.
