One of the two major spiral arms of our own Milky Way Galaxy, the other being the Sagittarius Arm. The Outer Arm emerges from the Galactic Nucleus on the opposite side from our Solar System, and arcs around the Galaxy in an almost complete semicircle. It comes to an end about twenty thousand light years from the Sun, in the direction of the constellation Cygnus.
