A loose cluster of stars in southern Centaurus, shining against the background of the Milky Way, and relatively close to the brightstarHadar or Beta Centauri as seen from Earth. The cluster contains up to six hundred stars, and while estimates of its age vary, it appears to be approximately one hundred million years old.
