This image in fact shows two superimposed clusters, with Collinder 316 being the more extensive of the two. In the northeast, the cluster overlays the more distant Trumpler 24, extending northeastwards towards a small emission nebula designated IC 4628 and sometimes called the Prawn Nebula.
