NotesThis relatively loose cluster lies along the band of the Milky Way was it passes through western Vela. This is a relatively young cluster, probably no more than eighteen million years old. It consists primarily of hot blue stars, of which the brightest example is the magnitude +5.48 variable designated HX Velorum.
